Someone brought this scenario to my attention, it's pretty crazy, but these shapes come up from time to time, and not talked about very often.
What stands out for me, is that you're basically trapped either way:
On the LHS:
The remaining tiles is:
- This leaves a trapping square on the right.
On the RHS:
The remaining tiles are:
- This leaves a trapping square on the left.
OR
- This leaves a trapping square on the left too.
Interesting in this case, at least you can potentially rescue two meeple, if you draw the tile, for the RHS.
There are other scenarios that leave a meeple trapped either way. I'll post one when I see it next.
Trapped either way
Re: Trapped either way
Here's another simple example of a 2 tile trap:
This one relies on there only being a few tile that fits in each empty square.
On the LEFT only the CRRF tile fits:
If you play that there is not tile that completes the RIGHT.
On the RIGHT only the following tiles fit:
- Playing this traps the LEFT
- Playing this traps the LEFT.

Here's an example I saw on twitter:
The only tile that fits the top hole is:
The only tile that fits the top hole is:
- CCCR - but the CCCC file is already used.

- CCCF
